WORKSHOP SHIRT IN NATURAL GRID COTTON LINEN GINGHAM

The Workshop Shirt is a staple style for James Coward. Made here in a lightweight yarn-dyed Japanese cotton/linen gingham, which lends an airy sensibility to this traditional and easy-fitting, snap-front work shirt. It features a convertible collar, a flat hem, and a left side breast pocket. A single-layer yoke with double knife pleats adds structure and enables easy movement. The construction combines French and flat felled seams for a durable finish.

James Coward is a collaborative project between three friends: Patrick Bull, Daniel Garrod, and Aaron Gray. They create garments through the reinterpretation of archetypical shapes, fabrics, and details, harmonizing their eclectic triad of sensibilities, influences, and histories. Their project works to create new perceptions of and relationships to the pliable objects and images that construct identity and beauty. All materials are sourced from mills with rich histories. Production processes are realized in communities with esteemed reputations for quality. They value robust fabric, rigorous construction, and the celebration of persistent traditions of regionally specific craftsmanship.
