WOMEN'S HALF-MOCK SWEATSHIRT IN ALPACA BLEND "COCOON FLEECE"

This is a close-to mock-neck sweatshirt with a boxy, vintage-leaning fit. The fabric is a thick, lofty loopback fleece with a semi-brushed interior for a cocoon-like softness and warmth. Its subtle flecks add character to the face, reflecting the undyed, unprocessed quality of the yarn. Trimmed with a custom 1×1. These custom fabrics combine alpaca from upstate New York with wool and cotton from California — all sourced from ecologically managed farm landscapes. It was knit by a sixth-generation mill carrying more than 160 years of practice in natural-fiber knitting.

Machine wash (alone) in cool water. Lay flat to dry.

Detailed care:

• Turn your sweatshirt inside out (very important — the
brushed side may shed slightly at first, and this also
helps reduce abrasion to the exterior face).
• Machine wash cold, alone, on a short cycle (15–20 minutes
max). Use a mild, chemical-free detergent.
• Line dry, ideally flat, so it doesn’t stretch.
• Storage: For moth resistance, store clean garments folded
in a breathable bag with cedar or lavender, in a cool, dry
place
Similar to a sweater, the sweatshirt may develop a slight
fuzziness over time due to the alpaca and wool content. This is
natural and part of how the fabric settles. Any small pills can
be gently removed by hand.

Dana grew up in Northern BC and Vancouver before moving to New York to design menswear. There, she eventually founded her eponymous label before taking a five-year hiatus from the garment industry.

Dana Lee Brown is a textile-focused clothing line, built on a range of custom field-to-loom fabrics developed with North American farms and supply chains. The design starts with natural fibres grown as close to home as possible—followed by yarn spinning, weaving, knitting, and other steps that extend from the Cascadian Coastline to the Maritimes. While textiles are typically reliant on complex global supply chains, the creative challenge of exploring what can be made with resources close at hand continues to shape the work. The intention is not only to invest in restorative local fibre systems, but to create textiles that are both unique and compelling—reflective of the landscapes they come from.

For most in-stock, full-priced items, you may return your purchase for an exchange or store credit if we receive the item back in the store within 7 days of delivery. A refund can be issued, but a 3.5% transaction fee and any shipping costs over the amount already paid will be deducted from the total.

For domestic shipping, Shop Boswell uses USPS or UPS ground for a $12 flat fee for standard items and $18 for hats and heavier items. If the item is large or unusually heavy, we will reach out to the customer for an additional shipping fee.
