R19 Y-3 GILL JACKET IN RED WARATAH NYLON

The Gill Jacket is a hooded jacket with a loose, slightly cropped fit. It has a self-lined front and hood, enlarged slot buttons threaded onto seatbelt tape, and slashed pockets that extend from the armholes. This original Man-tle fabric consists of a nylon plain weave that has been boiled and permanently shrunk using chlorides, a technique derived from the traditional method of producing silk crepe for the Obi belt by boiling in sea water. Our partnering mill in Fukui has developed their own method to create this crinkled texture with nylon. Heat treated, compressed and water-resistant, this fabric will become soft in humid conditions and remain stiff in dry conditions. Woven and finished for Man-tle in Fukui, Japan.
