LOT 721 DENIM TROUSERS IN RAW INDIGO
This piece is newly designed through research into the silhouette and defining characteristics of 1930s denim trousers.
A high rise intended for wear with suspenders, combined with a straight silhouette extending from the waist and thigh to the hem, preserves the era's rugged character. While maintaining the generous measurements that allowed for ease of movement, the proportions have been subtly refined. Historical accuracy is further enhanced through the use of black lacquer buttons and copper rivets, details commonly found on lightweight denim of the period.
The fabric is an original denim developed through careful analysis of denim textiles from the era. The warp is dyed with a green-cast indigo developed by Takahashi, while the weft uses a slightly ecru-toned yarn. While preserving the period-accurate color balance, the yarn count is adjusted, and the pick density increased. A 1/2 right-hand twill structure—distinct from conventional left-hand twill denim—creates a richer, more nuanced surface expression.
After washing, 2~3% shrinkage will occur. Raw denim is hemmable.
