LOT 204 ENGINEER TROUSERS IN BROWN

Sale price$556

The work trousers, inspired by American work pants from the 1940s, feature a low-rise silhouette characterized by straight lines that drop from the thighs. Its waistband features buttons on the reverse side, suggesting a styling with suspenders and a buckle-back rear waistband for sizing adjustment.

The trousers are made of a military moleskin, which is a thick fabric with a refined luster and slightly brushed surface, just like "mole's skin." Its excellent durability made it a popular fabric for work jackets worn by French coal miners in the 1800s – 1950s. Coarse yarns were deliberately used to replicate the dryness and brushed texture of typical vintage clothing. Pre-treated with mercerization to simultaneously achieve an elegant sheen and a rugged appearance.

T.T is a unisex brand based in New York and Kyoto. Taiga Takahashi, the founder and designer, underwent an education that merged Japanese culture with Western thought. The brand concept is "resurrecting relics of the past to unearth artifacts of the future". Believing that the true value of craftsmanship already exists in history, the fabrics, sewing, and details of time-survived garments are researched from an archaeological perspective, reinterpreted in a new way, and brought back to life in the modern age. T.T. is a creative project that creates timeless garments inspired by the founder's collection of vintage apparel, and created by Japanese artisans.
