LOT 116 LONG POINT COLLAR SHIRT IN CHARCOAL

Sale price$708

The item is based on an early 1900s' athletic shirt made from a heavy blanket.
Back in those days, dresswear dominated fashion. Sportswear for then-popular motorcycling and other activities were therefore built on dresswear patterns. Fashionable sports were a luxury affordable only for wealthy people, and every garment was crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The long-point collar features a beautiful curve, and the back yoke incorporates that curve. For reinforcement, deerskin elbow patches are added to achieve a heavy but soft look. The fabric combines wool for the warp and linen for the weft, finished with intense washer processing to create a natural texture.
The buttons are made of genuine water buffalo horn – a material known for their durability and resistance to discoloration, making it a premium button material for a wide range of clothes, including suits and coats. Each button has a unique pattern only found in natural materials.

T.T is a unisex brand based in New York and Kyoto. Taiga Takahashi, the founder and designer, underwent an education that merged Japanese culture with Western thought. The brand concept is "resurrecting relics of the past to unearth artifacts of the future". Believing that the true value of craftsmanship already exists in history, the fabrics, sewing and details of time-survived garments are researched from an archaeological perspective, reinterpreted in a new way and bring it back to life in the modern age. T.T. is a creative project that creates timeless garments that are inspired by the founder's collection of vintage apparel and created by Japanese artisans.
