R21 Z1 MACHINE CARDIGAN IN BLACK SHEEP

The Machine Cardigan is an oversized, machine-knit cardigan. It has a relaxed body and is knitted in an 8–gauge fisherman knit. It features dropped shoulders, generous room through the armholes, long sleeves, thin ribbing at the neckline, cuffs, and hem, and patch pockets. This style is a continuation of Man-tle's experiments in production to map the few wool suppliers and processors still operating in Australia. This garment is entirely produced in NSW and Victoria. 

Made of 100% merino wool, it is a natural colored wool from black and brown Merino sheep grown on Coonong Station in the Australian Riverina. A flock of 700 black Merino ewes are run and shorn separately from the station’s 32,000 white Merinos to avoid fiber contamination in the lines. The wool is then scoured at EP Robinson, tops made at Cashmere Connections, and spun at Wangaratta Woolen Mills.

• Submerge in room temperature water with wool safe detergent. Avoid agitation. Gently rinse, and squeeze garment to remove water. Dry flat in shade.
